Born in the lap of luxury to a prestigious noble family in a world called Valsheria, Cassandra is a woman who lavishes in the life of money and intrigue she was born into.

Her family, the Velvets, consist of highly talented and trained mages who have mastered the art of Illusion magic - a magic both illegal in the Empire in which they live, and extremely dangerous to those that do not know the depths of its power. They horde their secrets well and will go to any depths (blackmail, murder, etc) to maintain their place at the top of the food chain. Cassandra is certainly not above the cutthroat ways of her family, but she has proven more than a few times that her dreams and desires sometimes can differ from her family's.

As per custom with her family - when traveling to unknown locations or simply to deal in the more shady goings on associated with their 'business' — Cassandra dons a series of (literal) masks that she uses to disguise herself among the populace. She frequently visits the lower parts of the Empire to mingle with commoners, and entertain herself in ways normally not allowed in the strict environment of her home. She flirts, gambles, and overall indulges herself in simple pleasures before returning to the life of a noble woman who has to keep up appearances.

Which isn't to say she dislikes being a noble. Quite the contrary - the high life is perfect for her. She loves the attention, the political intrigue and the manipulation that often plays a vital role in keeping her family at the top. However, she often longs for more - and sometimes, she even longs for simple things.
